You can send the last-rite message yourself ;) I thought i can only things i am maintainer of :P And also you are way better than me in this :] the only reason I can think of to keep it around is for arches that are not directly supported by setiathome project. I mean for which the server won't send a pre-compiled client because it doesn't exist. First example that comes to my mind is i586.
