Description Jon Chambers 2003-08-01 08:39:25 UTC
Emerging mozilla-firebird-0.6.1 with +gtk2 causes Firebird to issue the following
complaint when starting:

nsNativeComponentLoader: GetFactory(libwidget_gtk.so) Load FAILED with
error:/usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/components/libwidget_gtk.so: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory

Firebird then fails to start.

Creating a symbolic link from /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/components/libwidget_gtk2.so to
[same]/libwidget_gtk.so at least allows Firebird to start. Firebird handles keyboard
input to its location bar erratically, though. Straight text input works, but selection
(shift-arrow, ctrl-shift-arrow) doesn't, and Firebird won't go to the entered URL when
the enter key is pressed.

Merging the same version of Firebird with -gtk2 eliminates the libwidget_gtk2.so
problem, but the keyboard problem remains.

In both cases, it is possible to open bookmarks and follow links with the mouse. It is
also possible to use type-ahead find within pages.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
For the libwidget_gtk2.so problem:

1. USE="gtk2" emerge mozilla-firebird-0.6.1
2. Start MozillaFirebird from the commandline
3. Link /usr/lib/MozillaFirebird/components/libwidget_gtk2.so to
[same]/libwidget_gtk.so

For keyboard input problem in both cases:

1a. Follow the above steps or
1b. USE="-gtk2" emerge mozilla-firebird-0.6.1
2. Enter some text in the location bar
3. Attempt to select text with shift-arrow or ctrl-shift-arrow; both should fail.
4. Press enter to follow the entered link. Nothing should happen.
Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
See above.
