Description Ryan VanderPlas 2009-01-29 03:26:10 UTC
For the default uses of airsnort, linux-wlan-ng is needed. However, emerging airsnot from a fresh build does not require this package and the program does not operate properly. It still starts out and does scans, but can't work with data nor do any decrypting.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Have a fresh install
2.emerge airsnort
3.program continues to complain that wlanctl-ng is missing

Actual Results:
A long packet collection without any data collection and no cracked information

AFAICT linux-wlan-ng is an optional dependancy - needed only when used with prism2 based cards.
i have promoted the einfo notices to elog.

thanks.
