Apache-2.2.10 using chroot breaks cURL functionality. Prior to using Apache-2.2.10, I was using apache-2.2.9-r1 and mod_chroot. Chroot jail was configured for quite sometime and worked flawlessly. New Apache-2.2.10 causes problems with mod_chroot, so I went with native 'new' chroot support with apache-2.2.10. Apache started fine and the jail appears to be working fine, with the exception of cURL usage via PHP. All scripts using cURL would fail immediately. Taking apache out of chroot jail, and the script would behave properly again. Rolling back to apache-2.2.9-r1 w/mod_chroot, and script would work properly.

I contacted cURL mailing list and they suspect issue with PHP or Apache. PHP version is the same between the two apache versions, so that leaves Apache as the potential issue. The other item is missing items in the jail for cURL to work, but I stress again, this all worked in mod_chroot using the same jailed files and libraries.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Define chroot directory in httpd.con
2. Start apache
3. Execute script with cURL functionality

Actual Results:  
cURL script executes without any errors in error_log. Strace shows no interesting chatter. Strace shows that it's accessing libcurl, but what is returned from curl_exec() is null.

Expected Results:  
I would expect web content from the curl request.
