Thanks for the release notification; assigning to maintainers. Coincidentally, I've just submitted an updated ebuild covering 7.3.1 to Joe. Sorry for the delay - this was principally due to some significant changes this time around to try to address bug#251494. I expect that should be in the tree in a few days. () > Hi Rune, why right you are. And good to see you here, how's it going with the Boom? Got your Z-10's hooked up yet? ;-) Sorry, this comment was (and is) totally unrelated to this bug report. (In reply to comment #3) > 7.3.2 is out already... () Indeed it is. I think I can get the ebuild for that ready today, then it'll just be down to Joe to get it committed to Portage. The slowness in 7.3.1 was caused by restructuring how the ebuild worked, which I won't have to do for 7.3.2. Note, though, that the new ebuild has considerably more dependencies than the old one, mainly on Perl modules. Some of those Perl modules are marked as unstable in Portage at the moment so you'll need to ~x86 keyword them (as appropriate for your architecture). You'll be told which they are as failed dependencies when you try and install the SqueezeCenter ebuild. I hope that makes sense. Getting 7.3.1 in is a little more involved, do to the changes from older versions. I hope to do this soon (today). Thanks for your patience! It makes perfect sense that replacing bundled modules with dependencies on equivalent in-tree ones would require some extra time and effort :) (In reply to comment #6) I see that 7.3.1 is already in. Looking forward to 7.3.2. Would it be more appropriate to file a new bug for the 7.3.2 bump? (In reply to comment #7) > I see that 7.3.1 is already in. Looking forward to 7.3.2. Would it be more > appropriate to file a new bug for the 7.3.2 bump? > Joe can contradict me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that will be necessary. I have an update ready and will give that to Joe over this weekend to commit. Bugs can be used to request bumps but aren't necessary to getting an update in Portage. |
