Does ntp really work? I suppose it need root privs to update the time?

sure, it'd need root access. Is that a problem ?

Nope, we just will package.mask these packages because not all prefix users have root access. It is still important to us to include them in the prefix tree though, so thanks for testing. I'll get to them soon.
