app-emulation/vmware-workstation is fetch restricted, and helpfully points to a download page.   Unfortunately, from that page you have to register and/or log in, and finding the download is surprisingly difficult.  I suggest that the ebuild instead refers users to http://www.vmware.com/download/ws/ where the executable can directly be downloaded.   New users can also order evaluation keys from that page.

This seems reasonable. I've been hitting http://www.vmware.com/download/ws/ quite a bit this week. Once you know it's where to go, you're great, but getting there from VMware's main corporate site is a bit of a trek.
