xine-lib 1.1.16 is out, as announced at project's homepage (xinehq.de). See "URL" section for changelog.
It can probably fix bugs 159255 and 252741.
It partially fixes bug 249041.

New ebuild

This ebuild works for me.

Patches from "files" directory were (temporarily?) dropped - maybe they should be added again.
There is following entry in changelog:
* Add a configuration option for Xv bicubic filtering, implemented in
  xf86-video-ati 6.9.1.
I've did nothing about it.
