Does this happen every time (reproducible)? If no, is there something you are always doing at the time this happens? What kind of track is this? Mp3, flac? Does the track contain local characters (æỹøåõĩ)? What is the version of dbus you have installed? gconf-sharp (2.16.0.0) <-- where did that come from? What's the output of: gacutil -l gconf-sharp ? It's in portage and last unmasked version for x86. # gacutil -l gconf-sharp The following assemblies are installed into the GAC: gconf-sharp, Version=2.16.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=35e10195dab3c99f Number of items = 1 Ok, now I test more and fined that this is "Notification Area Icon" plugin problem. Just enable that plugin, minimize banshee, and let the next track start then in notification area a pop-up appear. when that pop-up closed(by clicking on it or automatically), banshee crash. It's in > portage and last unmasked version for x86. Yeah, but your gtk-sharp is 2.12.7 and that conflicts with gconf-sharp-2.16.x. Or rather, 2.16.x is bound to gtk-sharp-2.10.x. Your configuration is in conflict with itself, in other words. > # gacutil -l gconf-sharp > The following assemblies are installed into the GAC: > gconf-sharp, Version=2.16.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=35e10195dab3c99f > Number of items = 1 > > > Ok, now I test more and fined that this is "Notification Area Icon" plugin > problem. > Just enable that plugin, minimize banshee, and let the next track start then in > notification area a pop-up appear. when that pop-up closed(by clicking on it > or automatically), banshee crash. I can reproduce. Do you want to open the upstream bug or shall I do it for you? Do you want to open the upstream bug or shall I do it for you? > My English is weak, if you do it, I will be thankful. thank you for responding, I think you're hitting on this problem : http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=545664 The notify-sharp in portage (0.4.0_pre20080912, in ~x86) does not for with notification-daemon 0.3.x. See comment 7 in the bug linked above. I was able to reproduce the crash with notification-daemon 0.3.7 and not with notification-daemon 0.4.0 (in ~x86). +*banshee-1.4.1-r5 (09 Jan 2009) + + 09 Jan 2009; Peter Alfredsen <loki_val@gentoo.org> + -banshee-1.4.1-r4.ebuild, +banshee-1.4.1-r5.ebuild: + Depend on new gstreamer, fix bug 250704. Depend on new notify-sharp, fix + bug 254235. Bump the plugins deps for good measure. + Assuming this fixes it. If not, reopen. Since I cannot reopen this I have opened new bug 263495 *** Bug 263495 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** Re-open for Serge in bug 263495 Cut'n'paste from bug 263495: Serge: "This is reproducible with banshee-1.4.3, notify-sharp-0.4.0_pre20080912-r1, notification-daemon-0.4.0" I can not reproduce. Serge: You're sure you restarted notification-daemon after upgrading, right? The old notification-daemon might still be running. Also what's your version of x11-libs/libnotify? Linkage for other projects: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=486683 https://bugs.launchpad.net/do/+bug/327078 I cannot reproduce now, also. It seems that I did not restart notification daemon after installing of latest libnotify (0.4.5). Before I had libnotify 0.4.4. and notification daemon 0.4.0. So it seems that banshee should depend on libnotify-0.4.5. Probably notification-daemon-0.4.0 needs to depend on libnotify-0.4.5. I'll change the deps in tree. Thanks for reporting. |
