please answer the same question as bug #245033, especially comment #5. Docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2 was not installed. emerge -vq =docbook-xml-dtd-4.1.2-r6 && emerge -vq gedit did it. If I try to install app-editors/gedit-2.24.2 it fails due to some xml parser errors.
