Unset:  CPPFLAGS, CTARGET, FFLAGS, INSTALL_MASK, LC_ALL, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS


Removing -Wl,--as-needed from LDFLAGS doesn't help as the openoffice build seems to gather the LDFLAGS from somewhere else than portage's build environment and I have built my whole system with --as-needed.

I will attach a whole build log bzip2-compressed and with MAKEOPTS set to -j1.

I guess this is with a recent Firefox 3.1 beta? If yes: This is not supported yet, so you'll have to disable the nsplugin use-flag for the time being

No, I don't have firefox-3.1_beta installed on this system. I have

net-libs/xulrunner-1.9.0.5
www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.5

installed and some CVS version of seamonkey-2.
Anyway, removing the nsplugin USE flag didn't have any effect. The build still fails with the same error.
I'm going to try removing -finline-functions now.

Alright, removing -finline-functions and running emerge with MAKEOPTS="-j1" fixed my problems with emerging openoffice...

Andreas... big sorry for wasting your time. Honestly... I was very afraid of filing this bug because I always had the feeling that the build faliures were caused by me. Unfortunately I completely missed to check my C{,XX}FLAGS, too.

Hanno, thanks for providing the right hints to solve this problem.
