Well, then there is a reason why sci-chemistry/validation does not have the ~amd64 keyword. Assigning to maintainers. I will take a look on this. I took a look on the latest version and found several things: 1. Mutiple problems with gcc-4.3 (missing headers, usage of iostream.h, etc) 2. depends on libs which are outdated in cifparsobj as well as in pdb-extract. So the old libs must be build or validate must depend on the old version. As there are multiple open bugs which report incompatibilities of those versions with resend gccs this is no solution. 3. I don't really know the package, but it includes procheck which is in Donnies overlay (dberkholz-overlay). Perhaps this should be moved to the tree instead. Are there other functionalities which would be missing? ==> My vote: Close with wont fix or push upstream to fix the dependencies. Gone from tree. |
