Description Dmitri Bogomolov 2008-12-21 22:49:30 UTC
I use gnome-extra/nm-applet with xfce and don't want gnome-base/gnome-panel. nm-applet works fine without it. Make this dependency optional, please.

Reproducible: Always

indeed. since at least 0.6.6, it doesn't check for it in configure.ac nor links to it so the dep can just die, however, you might assign this bug to the proper guys.

erm guys, ping ?
Comment 4 Steev Klimaszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-05 16:26:39 UTC
No. I realize that it isn't a hard dependency, I've explained the reason for this in bugs previous to this one. You are free to add this to your own personal overlay and make the change, but it causes less headaches to keep it the way it is.
