Description Alex Buell 2008-12-17 11:26:16 UTC
Why isn't 2.5.25-r9 marked as stable on AMD64? vmware-modules 1.0.0.15 will not compile with newer gentoo-sources 2.6.26+. Please mark 2.5.25-r9 as stable, thanks.

Reproducible: Always

2.6.27 stabilisation plans are in the works. Sticking to an older version is not the solution to your problem. Is there a bug report that details the vmware-modules problem?

It's probably http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=227303

Sorry, we don't support kernels older than 2.6.26 at the moment.

Your problem is a bug in vmware-modules, not in the kernel. It should be addressed by the vmware-modules maintainers.
