while you should be overriding -j# on `emake` lines, if you do want to tweak it via MAKEOPTS, you should be appending, not clobbering the variable

Thnaks Mike, I've fixed it. By the way, if you know how to fix it (instead of the workaround) as well as the LDFLAGS and exec stacks QA warnings, feel free to do so. This thing ties right into gcc and it's way above my level of incompetence.
