app-admin/eselect-python is used only by >=dev-lang/python-2.6. (In reply to comment #0) > Problem was symlink in /usr/local/bin was not updated to point to 2.5. > Fixed symlink, emerge completes. Ebuilds don't install anything to /usr/local. You shouldn't create any symlinks in /usr/local/bin. Interesting. So, at some point something else placed the symlink there. Changed the link back to to 2.4, same problem. Removed altogether, no issues. I was experimenting with Ypops a while back, since there's also a 'smtpd.py' file in /usr/local/bin, I'm guessing it's responsible for the symlink, and that just happens to be the one configure found first during emerge. The default Gentoo enviroment exports /usr/local/bin at the begining of PATH variable and making it programs/symlinks to be "prime" thus executed instead of those in /usr/sbin and /usr/bin. I suggest close this since it's not an eselect nor python bug. |
