This ebuild patch, and associated source path add support for the hp_rts88xx backend. With these patches, I can use scanners such as the HP ScanJet 4470c.

Hm... this looks like the patch from http://hp44x0backend.sourceforge.net/
Considering that this is an alpha version and has not been changed for four years now, I do not think that it is a good idea to include it. Thank you anyway.
