Nessus is "slightly" bigger, but does the same job + quite a lot more. Where are the advantages of this program? The main advantage of this program is that it brings all nmap versatility. If you never tried nmap, better do it... Nessus doesn't allow custom TCP flag combination, nor has the many options of nmap. And as a remark, let me say that this is an ebuild request, not a comparisson with other programs. Nessus can use nmap for port scanning, btw - I didn't want to say rnmap is a bad program, it's just that if it only provides a subset of nessus functionality it is less likely to find someone who writes an ebuild and maintains it. If you want to contribute one, feel free to do so :-) Perhaps we make an ebuild... another day. |
