Same problem here: after upgrading to mpd 0.14_alpha1 my m4a files won't play. Here is some additional info I have found will trying to solve this: - This line is added to mpd error log (/var/log/mpd/mpd.error.log) each time a m4a file is sent to be played: [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 0x81218f0]moov atom not found - Also, configure reports that it can play AAC files but not MP4, because mp4ff is missing. Here is the relevent parts of configure output: [...] checking faad.h usability... yes checking faad.h presence... yes checking for faad.h... yes checking whether FAAD2_VERSION is declared... yes checking whether faacDecInit2 is declared... yes checking for faacDecInit2 in -lfaad... no checking for NeAACDecInit2 in -lfaad... yes checking that FAAD2 uses buffer and bufferlen... yes checking for mp4AudioSpecificConfig... yes checking for faacDecConfiguration.downMatrix... yes checking for faacDecConfiguration.dontUpSampleImplicitSBR... yes checking for faacDecFrameInfo.samplerate... yes checking mp4ff.h usability... no checking mp4ff.h presence... no checking for mp4ff.h... no configure: WARNING: libmp4ff needed for MP4 support -- disabling MP4 support [...] ########### MPD CONFIGURATION ############ Client Support: TCP support ...................enabled IPv6 support ..................enabled Unix domain socket support ....disabled Playback Support: libao support .................disabled OSS support ...................disabled ALSA support ..................enabled JACK support ..................disabled OS X support ..................disabled PulseAudio support ............disabled FIFO support ..................enabled Media MVP support .............disabled Shout ogg streaming support ...disabled Shout mp3 streaming support ...disabled File Format Support: ID3 tag support ...............disabled mp3 support ...................enabled lame support ..................enabled Ogg Vorbis support ............enabled using tremor.................no FLAC support ..................enabled OggFLAC support ...............enabled(FLAC 1.1.3) Wave file support .............disabled AAC support ...................enabled MP4 support ...................disabled Musepack (MPC) support ........disabled WavPack support ...............disabled MOD support ...................enabled FFMPEG support ................disabled Other features: libsamplerate support .........disabled Zeroconf support ..............avahi ########################################## I have solved this temporarily by downgrading to version 0.13.2, as suggested above. this is fixed with 0.14_beta1 for me PS: aballier, please remove --verbose when using emerge --info (for example using --ignore-default-opts), this is a bit spammy ;> |
