Please attach the output of `env`from the same terminal and session in which konqueror fails and reopen this bug. Well, good idea and this is a very good way. I have "KDEDIRS=/usr:/usr/local:/usr/kde/3.5"... I don't know at first, where this path is assigned and at second, why this path have not been updated to 4.1.3 version... I think, it's not usefull to paste my "env", the 3 last lines are enough clear. But I want to know how change my KDEDIRS path and maybe, you wan't to know why this path haven't been updated (my etc-update is "up-to-date)... Expected STYLE_VERSION 1 Few times ago, I have installed kde-3.5.9-r4, and I have upgraded to 4.1.2 and to 4.1.3. If I do "konqueror -v" : Qt: 4.4.2 KDE: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) Konqueror: 4.1.3 (KDE 4.1.3) But Konqueror is looking for a file in the "/usr/kde/3.5" tree. Do you have any files installed at /usr/kde/3.5 ? If you do, are you sure you removed all 3.5 packages? If so, how did you install 3.5? Anyway, if you *really* don't want 3.5, remove all the packages and if after that you still have files in /usr/kde/3.5 that don't belong to any package, remove them. (In reply to comment #7) Yes, I have files in /usr/kde/3.5. And I think I have understand why I have had this bug !!... When I have updated to KDE-4.x, I have removed the 3.5.x versions. But, I am pretty sure kdelibs-3.5.9-r4 have been reinstalled because several applications need this version : openoffice-3.0.0, kdesvn-0.14.4, kdevelop, xxdiff, kmess, licq, etc... (10 programs on my computer need kdelibs-3.5.9-r4). And with the reinstallation of kde-3.5.9-r4, the file /etc/env.d/45kdepaths-3.5 has been reinstalled too... For kde-4.1, the file is "43kdepaths-4.1" (43<45 then KDE 4.1 paths are dropped...). Do you agree ? I think several updaters have had and will have the same bug. Maybe, it needs to be corrected ? Some apps are still not compatible with KDE-4 and thus require kdelibs-3.5. The problem here is that we've added some updates to 3.5.10 that weren't put in 3.5.9. As you got 3.5.9, that means you're running a stable (arch) system. Users trying to use KDE-4, a testing (~arch) DE, on a stable system is something that keeps causing issues. We're going to ask for the stabilization of KDE-3.5.10, but until we get it done, you might want to keyword the few 3.5.10 apps you use. !!!!!!! Expected STYLE_VERSION 1 Please bear with me ... this is my first gentoo bug report I got the same error on a freshly installed system with Kde4.1.3 that has never seen Kde3.5.x. Konqueror was just fine before I installed Openoffice. The Openoffice install forced me to rebuild Kde4 with "kdeprefix". All seems to be ok except that Konqueror crashes. setting KDEDIRS=/usr:/usr/local:/usr/kde/4.1 fixes the crashes Looks to me as if Openoffice is to blame I'm also having this bug. I'm using the KDE 4.2.0 version and it started to happen after a recompile kdelibs-3.5.10-r2. I could "solve" this bug copying the file 43kdepaths-4.2 to 46kdepaths-4.2, as stated by Christophe LEFEBVRE on comment #8. This stuff was fixed when we adjusted kde3.5.10 and kde4.2 deps. So it cant be happening now. |
