Here's the build.log.
By looking at his emerge --info he seems to run an amd64 stable system with some packages pulled from unstable (portage, baselayout, openrc). Vasileios, I wonder if the problem persists if you upgrade sys-devel/libtool to the latest ~amd64 package available as this version of gnutls compiles just fine on my ~amd64 machine... Yeah, with latest ~ version of libtool (2.2.6a), gnutls compiles fine. Thanks Vasileios and Lars. Great analysis.
