Description Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2008-11-01 23:33:11 UTC
The LaTeX package dev-tex/achemso has by now reached version 3.0 or even later, while the ebuild installs version 1.0. This is not compatible anymore...

I put together some quick ebuilds that grab current packages from dante. Works fine here... of course, this does not notice when the latex files on dante are updated, since the source URL is version-independent...

Hey, if it were *hopelessly* outdated, it should be removed from the tree, right? :)
Comment 6 Alexis Ballier gentoo-dev 2008-11-07 19:28:19 UTC
any chance this can use the packages from texlive-latexextra and texlive-bibtexextra ? (mciteplus and notes2bib). By the way, achemso is in texlive-latexextra too. Since we already have the ebuild i'm ok to bump it, but considering the great understaffing of the tex team i'm not fond of adding every single ctan package as a dev-tex package.

Hmm just the opposite way as KDE goes... I see your point of course.
In this case, as soon as it's proper in texlive stable, I would even suggest removing the separate ebuild.

However I tried and for me the version in texlive-2007 is too old (v2.0, only a sty file, no cls). I am relying on latex too much to go unstable.

Anyway, on the long run installing texlive-bibtexextra and texlive-latexextra for just a single package is annoying. Would it be possible to generate (or autogenerate) ebuilds on the texlive module level?
But this is a different bug of course...

The version dated 2010-02-09 is 3.4c with license lppl1.3. See:

I'm resolving this since texlive-2009 contains version 3.3.

Anyway, I think the separate ebuild dev-tex/achemso-1.0 should be removed...
