Bug also exists in gnome-extra/deskbar-applet-2.24.1 , Here is the error message.Hope to fix it either. If yes, your docbook/sgml setup is probably corrupted somehow and you should try to reinstall app-text/sgml-common, maybe the 4.2 dtd or rerun /usr/bin/build-docbook-catalog (as root). thanks for providing info, I'll check that asap. I think this is because you have not installed dev-python/pyxml. try emerge dev-python/pyxml before emerge gnome-extra/deskbar-applet... I have encountered this problem, after I emerged pyxml, things goes OK. I just hit this bug. Emerging docbook-xml-dtd:4.2 made it work, though. can't reproduce with 2.24.3, no installed dtd and no net connection so the build system can't get it from the web either.
