Is NICELEVEL ignored entirely or is a similar (but actually used) configuration variable set elsewhere? Ah, the boinc itself runs under the given nice level (I chanegd it temporary to 10), however the _real_ boinc application itself runs with 19 : tfoerste@n22 ~ $ ps -efla | grep -e boinc -e PPID F S UID PID PPID C PRI NI ADDR SZ WCHAN STIME TTY TIME CMD 4 S boinc 6013 1 0 81 10 - 1507 - 21:10 ? 00:00:02 /usr/bin/boinc_client 0 R boinc 6020 6013 89 99 19 - 20855 - 21:10 ? 00:18:28 ../../projects/einstein.phys.uwm.edu/einstein_S5R4_6.02_i686-pc-linux-gnu_2 --method=0 --Freq=993.959007333 --FreqBand=0.0158775408781 --dFreq=6.71056161393e-06 --f1dot=-3 # ChangeLog for sci-misc/boinc # Copyright 1999-2009 Gentoo Foundation; Distributed under the GPL v2 # $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/sci-misc/boinc/ChangeLog,v 1.45 2009/01/02 20:40:21 cryos Exp $ 02 Jan 2009; Marcus D. Hanwell <cryos@gentoo.org> metadata.xml: Removed myself as maintainer. Would like to solve this issue for current version 6.4 rather than for the old version : http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-747140-highlight-.html Reopening per request. I will have to look on it at some time but no promises (at all i am mainly kde dev, give me working solution and i will patch package tho :]) current version works fine |
