Here is what's in the ebuild: >=media-libs/gstreamer-0.10.16 >=media-libs/gst-plugins-good-0.10 >=media-libs/gst-plugins-base-0.10.12 >=media-plugins/gst-plugins-pango-0.10 >=media-plugins/gst-plugins-gconf-0.10 >=media-plugins/gst-plugins-gio-0.10 >=media-plugins/gst-plugins-x-0.10 >=media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta-0.10-r2 now I'd be pleased to know what you did to get there. I was emerging the gnome package when this error occurred. I tried to emerge gst-plugins-good and nothing changed. Really... it's very strange and I don't know how I got this error The ebuild is correct, and also after an emerge --sync (and the problem for me is still present). I attach the config.log file Maybe... I'm using Reiser4 in this installation. Can be this the cause? filesystem should matter. could you list out all gstreamer package installed and their versions ? (In reply to comment #4) > filesystem should matter. could you list out all gstreamer package installed > and their versions ? > I don't know why... but media-libs/gstreamer wasn't installed... now Totem fails with same error, although I emerged gstreamer. *** All gst-plugin installed: [I] media-libs/gst-plugins-base Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(15:05:37 10/24/08)(nls -debug) [I] media-libs/gst-plugins-good Installed versions: 0.10.8-r1(0.10)(19:29:18 10/26/08)(-debug) [I] media-libs/gst-plugins-ugly Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(13:40:45 10/26/08)(-debug) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-a52dec Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(14:37:57 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-alsa Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(13:41:29 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-cdparanoia Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(15:40:14 10/24/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-dvdread Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(14:39:31 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-esd Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(13:45:18 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-ffmpeg Installed versions: 0.10.5(0.10)(13:47:31 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-flac Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(13:42:04 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-gconf Installed versions: 0.10.8-r1(0.10)(14:58:04 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-gio Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(15:27:57 10/24/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-mad Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(14:38:23 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta Installed versions: 0.10-r2(0.10)(14:39:38 10/26/08)(X alsa dvd esd ffmpeg flac mad mpeg ogg theora vorbis xv -a52 -dvb -mythtv -oss) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-mpeg2dec Installed versions: 0.10.8(0.10)(13:46:56 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-ogg Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(13:42:45 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-pango Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(15:40:45 10/24/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-theora Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(13:38:40 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-vorbis Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(13:43:35 10/26/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-x Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(15:41:20 10/24/08) [I] media-plugins/gst-plugins-xvideo Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(13:39:20 10/26/08) and [I] media-libs/gstreamer Installed versions: 0.10.20(0.10)(20:07:43 10/26/08)(nls -debug -test) Please try reemerging your gst-plugins (all of them). Maybe re-emerging world do the trick (I don't think), but I can't try, because the hd has been formatted to transfer some file. I think is a Reiser4 bug or a corruption of Portage PKG database. Thanks to all anyway, if I can, I will retry. Same here. Compiling gentoo in 32-bit chroot, for core2. May this bug happen because of USE flags ? After that totem compile normally. (In reply to comment #9) > I resolved launching gst-inspect. After that totem compile normally. > Same for me, but I had to restart DBUS for it to work. This bug occurs for media-video/totem-2.24.4 as well. I'm performing a fresh install on a newly-formatted partition. I've thus far emerged xorg-server, and I'm partway through emerging gnome. Portage reports gst-plugins-good as installed. The exact error output by portage is: checking GStreamer 0.10 gconfaudiosink plugin... ./configure: line 23394: 30997 Aborted $gst010_inspect $good_element > /dev/null 2> /dev/null no configure: error: Cannot find required GStreamer-0.10 plugin 'gconfaudiosink'. It should be part of gst-plugins-good. Please install it. I'll attach the full build log. Created attachment 188857 [details]

totem-2.24.4/environment
I resolved this by starting dbus (since I was running in a chrooted environment, this wasn't started by default). Totem then built successfully. See this bug: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=143810 for more info. *** Bug 267086 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** (In reply to comment #14) > I resolved this by starting dbus (since I was running in a chrooted > environment, this wasn't started by default). I actually experienced this problem in a chroot as well but the problem went away randomly, I could build totem-2.26.2, then for some reason I wouldn't be able to build 2.26.3 due to this problem, then after updating other stuff, I would finally be able to update to totem-2.26.3. dbus never ran in this chroot though. closing duplicate of bug #143810, thanks for pointing it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 143810 *** (In reply to comment #14) > I resolved this by starting dbus (since I was running in a chrooted > environment, this wasn't started by default). Maybe this could be added to the suggestions when the build of totem fails. I was seeing a similar issue on totem-2.30.2 but with a Segfault there rather than 'Aborted'. I found that running "gst-inspect-0.10 gconfaudiosink" was causing the Segfault. So I rebuilt media-libs/gstreamer (to rebuild gst-inspect-0.10) and that fixed it. Though sudo works fine. hi, i tried : 1. emerge -1 `qlist -I gst-plugins -C` -v 2. emerge gstreamer 3. gst-inspect 4. restarting dbus still the same fault : Cannot find required GStreamer-0.10 plugin 'gconfaudiosink'. btw : i am trying to install totem-2.32.0!! i get a strange message when i start "gst-inspect-0.10 gconfaudiosink": ** GLib-GIO:ERROR:gdbusconnection.c:2271:initable_init: assertion failed: (connection->initialization_error == NULL) Aborted any more suggestions ?? might be that my useflags are important : [ebuild N ] media-video/totem-2.32.0 USE="nsplugin python youtube -bluetooth -debug -doc -galago -iplayer -lirc -nautilus (-tracker) -upnp" 0 kB (In reply to comment #22) > This happens to me if I'm emerging as root. Though sudo works fine. I can confirm that emerging as sudo resolve the problem. Also, running `gst-inspect-0.10 gst-inspect-0.10 'gconfaudiosink'' as normal user, gives sane output, instead of GLib-GIO:ERROR:gdbusconnection.c:2271:initable_init: assertion failed: (connection->initialization_error == NULL) Solution for me: export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS= before starting emerge. |
