Closing as DUP of bug #231111. Please convert your system to UTF-8 and reopen if CUPS still won't print. For more information please see my comment #c4 over at bug #231111. You can find details about UTF-8 in the "Using UTF-8 with Gentoo" guide: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/utf-8.xml *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 231111 *** I do not agree. 231111 seems to be about character sets. Although I have errors in the error_log, it is not what is produced when I try to print something. My problems seems to have more to do with a screwed-up mime type list (/etc/cups/mime.convs). Also, I cannot print from *any* program, not even lpr called manually. Please retest with a more recent cups version (1.3.11). If it still doesn't work start with a fresh configuration by cleaning out /etc/cups, reinstalling cups and setting up your printers via the webinterface. Also if you haven't already done so migrate your system to UTF-8 and attach a new error_log. Resolving as NEEDINFO for now. |
