HDAPS disc protect interface has changed in kernels >= 2.6.27, which requires a patched version of hdapsd. See http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/HDAPS#Kernel_patch for more information.

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to use current kernels >= 2.6.27 with disc protect patch in combination with hdapsd found in portage tree.

this is an ebuild + files for the latest hdapsd.
got it working with gentoo-sources-2.6.27-r1

Please attach patch files individually as plaintext to let people review them.

I haven't reviewed this patch but I'm dropping the 2.6.27 block as hdapsd is not in the stable tree.
