*** Bug 242272 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** hal-info-20081127 (.tar.bz2) is available. hal-info-20081219 is available. The hal-info package should be updated far more often than it is now. The current version is missing info for my new mp3 player and 9-in-1 card reader. It is not very likely that newer versions contain regressions. The hal website also says: "When packaging hal, it should depend on hal-info, of any version", which makes me wonder why the latest hal package depends on either of two specific hal-info versions? Current hal-info version in portage doesn't support many Nokia Mobile Phones as 3G/GSM modem. Please update the ebuild. If is there any way I could help, just let me know. Copying the hal-info-20080508 ebuild in portage and renaming it does the trick. I totally agree with #4: The hal package should depend on the latest (stable) hal-info version and that should be updated. I installed 20081219 to get support for an USB modem. Works nicely. Thanks for reporting. |
