No problems concerning compilation on my machine (amd64) with -j3. I don't use distcc but I'm using ccache. Try to don't use distcc and try to set -j2 in your make.conf. As I mentioned, I've tried it with distcc disabled and -j5. I'm running a Q9300 quad core, so -j5 is appropriate. For me it looks more like your distcc is broken. Because i have here -j40 (lots and lots of pcs) and it works just fine. Tried on 3 machines only but i guess it is fair testing. Reopen if you think it is really -j issue. |
