This problem only occurs when I'm using the LCD. When I switch to CRT mode it 
works fine! After I startx the screen goes black and I can't get it to respond with 
Ctrl+Alt+Del, or Ctrl+F1, F2, etc. I then downgraded to 1.0.4349 and it works great 
again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just type xinit or startx 
Actual Results:  
Black screen 

Expected Results:  
1. When I use xinit or startx in LCD mode the NVIDIA splash screen comes up in 
1024x768 mode 
2. When I use xinit or startx in CRT mode the NVIDIA splash screen comes up in 
1490x960 mode 

None of the drivers work when the laptop is in LCD-CRT (multi) mode. xfree dumps 
with the error that "no screens found". Other than that the previous version works 
great.

Join the club.  This is a nvidia driver problem; you will have to use 4349.

Err... 4496 has been released and is in portage.  It seems to work on my 2650 now!
