konqueror takes ages to load a page ... usually gives up on a half loaded page alltogether. i think this line in my .xsession-errors is somewhat related

kio_http(16130)/kio (kioslave) KIO::SlaveBase::finished: finished() called after error()! Please fix the KIO slave.
