I don't see a bug. See bug no. 240262 Filing this bug has been recommended by aballier@gentoo.org dev-tex/floatflt is now masked, and therefore now one cannot install floatflt under texlive with emerge. current license is: % Copyright (c) 1994-1998 by Mats Dahlgren <matsd@sssk.se>, % http://www.homenet.se/matsd/ . All rights reserved. % % You may use the `floatflt' package freely, but at your own % risk. The authors of floatflt.dtx and floatflt.ins (the % complete `floatflt' package distribution) can not be held % responsible for any consequence of your using any of these % files, or files created from these, including hardware, % software, and data damage. You may not make any changes to % the files floatflt.dtx or floatflt.ins. You are allowed to make % changes to the `\documentclass' and/or `\usepackage' commands % of the file `floatexm.tex'. You may incorporate % the code from these files in other files under different % names, provided the original authors are given full credit for % their work and that you yourself take the complaints from the % user(s) of your file(s). You may freely distribute the % files floatflt.dtx and floatflt.ins, provided that you % always distribute `floatflt.dtx' and `floatflt.ins' together % at the same time. This ressembles a lot to the lppl restrictions; what license would that be for us? freedist? Currently, floatflt installs under /usr/share/texmf With TeXlive (and I think also with newer versions of teTeX) it should install under /usr/share/texmf-dist and its documentation under /usr/share/texmf-doc I think this is the only compatibility problem between texlive and floatflt. The original "nosell" license issue has been resolved (it already was at the time when this bug was filed): <http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-devel@lists.lyx.org/msg135340.html> Ironically, dev-tex/floatflt was removed from the tree last November, with commit message: "Drop tex packages that are replaced by tetex or texlive installs. Masked since 2007." readded, unmasked & all good, you'll have to ask your arch team for rekeywording though |
