When i tried to install portbunny i got this:

After some trying i saw that the KV_ variables in get_version are now filled by
getfilevar. My kernel version is Linux 2.6.24-tuxonice-r9 #1 SMP

Please post the output of `ls -l /usr/src/linux' too.

I'd like to have this bug reopened. I have the same problem when emerging app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-1.6.6-r1.
