i'll attach the log since it's kind of huge.  0.31 also fails, i don't think 0.2x did.

FYI, while checking other distros for patches to steal, i noticed most are shipping 0.4x.  i couldn't find this version on the libical page and then found it @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/freeassociation/.  last version is 0.43 released Jan 15.  might be worth checking out.

version 0.43 (which is already in Portage) is not affected by this. Just added 'test' to RESTRICT in ebuild.
