RGnumeric needs gnumeric sources to be built so, in my opinion it should be build with gnumeric when R use flag is on. I've tried to manage this but as rgnumeric is 6 years old, its dependencies check and included files are not good. I will try to patch it to make it work with more recent software. I've realized even R and gnumeric really evolved since the release of rgnumeric. Like gnumeric plugin system that is not exactly the same. I googled this and I found that the writer of this plugin proposed to be a mentor for a Google SOC that has for subject to re-write this plugin. For all this reasons I think it will be a waste of time to go deeper. I've emailed the author of rgnumeric to know if someone ever tried to patch it and if this should work. If I've got an answer, I will keep you informed. |
