Description Hasse Hagen Johansen 2008-09-18 17:00:58 UTC
Why is this still disabled. I have reported this a lot of times with earlier versions. I have to put this in a local overlay every time and modify the package. Why breaking it for all the via epia boards (which are the ones in most need of using xvmc) ?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Try the official mythtv package on a via epia board (in my case a sp8000)
2.It breaks. Only black screen (and I do have the correct xvmc selected via eselect xvmc)
3.make a local overlay and --enable-xvmc-vld instead of disable
4. Then it works again

I think I stated this problem a lot of times

I hope you don't mind my asking what on Earth possesses you to report the very same problem three times. :)

Yes. This bug have present in a very long time. The solution is known and nothing have been done to solve it. The gentoo ebuild of mythtv used to work with via epia boards and it has know been broken for half a year(if not more)

The other thing is. I haven't seen a reason in any of the bugs of why --disable-xvmc-vld is in the ebuild.

Not hearing anything about a bugs people report would normal just make people not filing bug reports, but I am maybe a little stubborn

I would think I had to report a bug for every new version if it is still present?

Regards
Hasse
