After upgrading to mplayerplugin-in-0.80 from version 0.71, everytime I try to
open a Realplayer *.ram file mplayerplugin opens instead of RealPlayer - and I
don't like it.

I downgraded to mplayerplugin-in-0.71 and everything returned to normal operation.

known issue -- we'll have to wait for upstream to fix it.

Not anymore.  mplayerplug-in-0.91 solved this problem for me.

You can fine tune mplayerplug-in file association now.
I think we can close it
