Description Sergei Drachev 2008-09-08 18:45:08 UTC
fb_lock_manager is running under user 'firebird' in this version.
It may cause serious database corruption if you run gbak under user 'root'.
In this case fb_lock_manager cannot send any signals to gbak.

Reproducible: Always

Reassigning to maintainer-needed since wltjr has left Gentoo, bug #135927.
Comment 2 William L. Thomson Jr. 2011-02-23 19:25:59 UTC
Is this still the case and can you provide additional information, showing what happens if you run gbak as root while fb_lock_manager is running under root. I have been using gbak as root to backup databases nightly for years without any problems. If no additional comments, will close as needinfo.
