It was released only hours ago. Please give our developers some time. :-)

A couple things :

1) Did you even bother to check that the patches applied in 2.4.0-r1 already make up more than half of 2.4.1?

2) Do you actually have a bug with 2.4.0 or any other version?

3) Did you bump locally the 2.4.0 ebuild to 2.4.1 to see if it works for you?

If you answer can't answer "yes" to any of those questions, god kills a kitten. So please think of the kittens and don't do 0-day bump requests.

As for 2.4.1, I'll get to it as time allows, but I'll *greatly* appreciate any help with testing (xrandr, VT switching, DRI, XVideo, XvMC)

Thanks

# uname -a
Linux desperado-book 2.6.24-tuxonice-r9 #1 SMP Sun Aug 17 22:40:09 MSD 2008 i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5600 @ 1.83GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

xorg-server-1.4.2
xorg-x11-7.3
xf86-video-i810-2.4.1
x11-drm-20071019 (drm module not from kernel)

Sometimes X crash with /var/log/Xorg.0.log :
(EE) intel(0): underrun on pipe B!
Synaptics DeviceOff called
(EE) intel(0): underrun on pipe B!
Synaptics DeviceOff called
(II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch
(II) intel(0): xf86UnbindGARTMemory: unbind key 0
(II) intel(0): xf86UnbindGARTMemory: unbind key 1
(II) intel(0): xf86UnbindGARTMemory: unbind key 2
(II) intel(0): xf86UnbindGARTMemory: unbind key 3
(II) intel(0): xf86UnbindGARTMemory: unbind key 4

and it's impossible to start X one more time without restart all system (I mean `init 6`)

the same situation with X when drm is kernel module
Comment 4 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-08-19 12:08:06 UTC
@Vladimir, please open a *new* bug, it's easier to track issues that way.

As for this one, 2.4.1-r1 is in portage with a small patch for LFP dithering.

Thanks
