Cups error log
(In reply to comment #0) To fix the problem on my system was quite simple after all: 1. Browse to http://localhost:631/admin 2. Select Administration - Add Printer 3. Install the printer that did not print 4. Select - Printers - Delete Printer 5. Delete the faulty printer installation. I suggest an information message to the emerge info be added. You probably also upgraded gimp-print/gutenprint during your world update since older versions shipped the mentioned filter "rastertoprinter". The recent ppd file for your printer now makes use of the "rastertogutenprint.5.1" filter: $ zcat /usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint/5.1/C/stp-bjc-3000.5.1.ppd.gz | grep cupsFilter *cupsFilter: "application/vnd.cups-raster 100 rastertogutenprint.5.1" Gutenprint should normally take care of automatically updating your ppd files nowadays by running /usr/sbin/cups-genppdupdate.5.x in the pkg_postinst() phase of the ebuild. |
