update was easy to do manual since the ebuild creator was smart, renaming the ebuild will make it search for a new source file :-)

cd /usr/portage/games-strategy/warzone2100
cp warzone2100-2.1_beta2.ebuild warzone2100-2.1_beta4.ebuild
[edit out the line which applies the encoding patch, just did this by trial and error to make it compile]
ebuild warzone2100-2.1_beta4.ebuild digest
done
