Since kernel 2.6.24, dazuko is not released as kernel module anymore because security capability cannot be built as module anymore. Implementation relying on very experimental redirfs seems to be too shaky. Because of that, dazuko is released since then as kernel patch to build functionality into the kernel. I am using this patch since 2.6.24 and can report that my system works very stable (stable gentoo-sources) and I have not experienced any problems. Maybe it is time to think about including the patch into the gentoo patch set, since dazuko is atm maintainer-needed (alonbl has retired). I suggest to cc dsd and ask him kindly to take this package.
