Description Charles Goodwin 2003-06-24 04:50:32 UTC
There are ebuilds for 0.1 and cvs on the website.

0.2 is the latest release.

Features include:
# Window/edge snapping
# Merged windows (like tabbed windows in pekwm or fluxbox)
# Transparent window titles and menus with anti-aliased fonts
# Python scripting used for configuration, with preliminary Ruby work done and
Perl support planned
# Dockapp support
# Pixmap styles, compatible with Blackbox/Fluxbox/Openbox & Waimea styles
# Viewports, multiple desktops
# KDE and GNOME support

"Kahakai is a fork of the Waimea window manager, with the intent to create a
language agnostic scriptable window manager, while maintaining the original
features of Waimea, and extending upon them. Kahakai is pronounced with the 'ca'
in car, the 'ha' in hard, and 'ki' from kite.

By "language agnostic", we mean that the scripts which control actions in the
window manager are not language specific, they can be written in any language
supported by SWIG. For starters, we plan on supporting Python with the addition
of Ruby and Perl shortly thereafter."
