Ian, Can you try latest mplayer (20090226.28734). real use flag has been split into two, so if you don't want the binary codecs on your C3, just ignore 'realcodecs' flag. I had the same error with mplayer-1.0_rc2_p20090322, when win32codecs was unset. After setting the win32codecs USE flag, the error disappeared. My USE flags, from 'emerge -pv mplayer': USE="3dnow 3dnowext aac alsa amrnb amrwb cddb dts dvdnav enca faac faad iconv ipv6 live mad mmx mmxext mp2 mp3 nemesi network rar real rtc speex tremor unicode vorbis win32codecs -X -a52 -aalib (-altivec) -arts -ass -bidi -bindist -bl -cdio -cdparanoia -cpudetection -custom-cflags -custom-cpuopts -debug -dga -dirac -directfb -doc -dv -dvb -dvd -dxr3 -encode -esd -fbcon -ftp -ggi -gif -gtk -jack -joystick -jpeg -ladspa -libcaca -lirc -lzo -md5sum -mng -musepack -nas -openal -opengl -oss -png -pnm -pulseaudio -pvr -quicktime -radio -samba -schroedinger -sdl -sse -sse2 -ssse3 -svga -teletext -tga -theora -truetype -v4l -v4l2 -vdpau -vidix -x264 -xanim -xinerama -xscreensaver -xv -xvid -xvmc -zoran" VIDEO_CARDS="-mga -nvidia -s3virge -tdfx -vesa" I need to move (or remove) the quicktime and real use flags, since they depend on the win32codecs. Basically, both options are for binary support, not internal libavcodec support. Any progress?(In reply to comment #3) > I need to move (or remove) the quicktime and real use flags, since they depend > on the win32codecs. Any progress?
