First the tests don't work without FEATURES="-userpriv". But even with this, I got a failure and it refuses to emerge:

How about actually including the test failure data?
tar up $PORTAGE_TMPDIR/dev-db/mysql-5*/work/mysql/mysql-test/var*
and email it to [e-mail]
