Can you try this with 2008.0-r1?
Comment 2 Devin Cofer 2008-09-30 22:46:22 UTC
Confirmed with the 2008.r1 amd64 LiveCD. It seems the original reporter has vanished, so I'll try to provide all the info I can. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT video card, and when booting, I believe Gentoo said it would be using the nv driver. Here's the 'interesting' part of the output. The log seems to only reiterate this.

(II) Module already built-in
dlopen: /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so: Cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so
(EE) Failed to load module "glx" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No devices detected.

Fatal server error:
no screens found
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

This isn't a big deal to me, I prefer the Minimal CD anyways, but I figured others may have this problem.

Thanks for any help :)

Closing as we don't provide livecds any more.
