append acpi=off to your kernel parameters in grub/lilo this is a known acpi problem and *not* specific to pfeifer-sources. a bit of info is here: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/linux/linux-kernel/2003-22/1041.html as far as the --directisa suggestion in this article, you can try applying that to /etc/init.d/clock Let me know if this helps, Jay Yes, adding the --directisa option to the hwclock calls in /etc/init.d/clock fixed the problem.
