Hi 

This is a little writing error

The entry 

"icon=gimp"

is deprecated so the icon on menu will not appears, just need to change to 

"icon=gnome-gimp"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Emerge gimp
2. Check the desktop file

In fact

gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor/

can solve this
