I just tested this and can indeed confirm that it crashes with gtk+-2.2.2-r1 (clicking on "configure" and "ok" restarts the X server and gdm), but this crash _does not_ occur with gtk+-2.2.1-r1. I've also tested version 2.4.1.3, 2.4.1.4, and 2.4.1.6 (finishing the ebuild now), and can confirm the behaviour with all versions. Tested here with 2.4.1.3 and 2.4.1.4 and GTK+ 2.2.2-r1, confirming also that this occurs. I also have the same problem using gtk+-2.2.2-r1 with gdm 2.4.1.3 and 2.4.1.4. unfortunately, no joy for me with gtk+-2.2.3. could at least one other with the same problem please report success/failure with 2.2.3 ? thanks What versions of the nvidia driver are we all using? 1.0.4496 here I've been having some serious Xv related trouble with that version of the driver - I've moved back to 4363 - can you check and see whether that version exhibits problems with the new GTK? I have tried both versions of nvidia; 1.0.4363 and 1.0.4496. And I can confirm the problem isn't solved. this problem is not related to the nvidia drivers. Ah, I inferred it from the bug this was said to stem from - is the cause known? this is fixed for me using gtk+ 2.2.4 and gdm 2.4.16. *** Bug 25510 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ok, turns out our debug support switch had some unwanted side effects. Please try gtk+-2.2.4-r1 and see if problems still persist. gtk+-2.2.4-r1 looks like it solves bug 25510. At least now I can open up the signature block without having Evolution crash or having to import a library from a different distro. Thanks! foser, I'll let you mark the bug fixed if your other testing confirms this. Thanks again. foser, this is fixed for me with 2.2.4-r1 (i compiled with debug off). this has been fixed by foser with the debugging fixes. |
