Abeni is a Gentoo Linux GUI editor and syntax checker written in Python. It uses
the wxPython library for the GUI. It is easy to use for novice ebuild
enthusiasts yet should aid the seasoned developers too. This version lets you
use repoman, lintool, create diffs for submitting ebuilds and use ebuild/emerge
commands. Abeni's main goal is writing ebuilds quickly, efficiently and
syntactally correct. You can create a new ebuild from scratch or import existing
ebuilds. This is the second release, mainly a developer pre-alpha release.

abeni-0.0.1 as of the date this bug was entered hasn't been accepted into
portage and should not. abeni-0.0.2 has numerous bug fixes and enhancements, so
abeni-0.0.1 should not see the light of day.

looks pretty neat, but i want some changes to the build process.

i notice that docs are installed in both /usr/share/abeni and /usr/share/docs/${PF}. They should only be in the latter, so is it possible to fix the setup.py scripts in abeni to not put README files there. or alternatively, make the ebuild remove the extra docs from /usr/share/abeni.

another thing is usually, graphics are put in /usr/share/pixmaps rather than /usr/share/bitmaps, can that be changed also?

and just one minor thing, the SRC_URI should probably be mirror://sourceforge/abeni/${P}.tar.gz

this does look promising, alot better than ebuilder and other scripts we have that generate ebuilds.

Hello,

I used all your suggestions, liquidx. I moved the documentation and images and changed the SRC_URI as you suggested. I had to change code in abeni 0.0.2, so I released it as 0.0.3. Please see the notes in bug #22938.
